This morning we had the Enviro Schools teachers Kauri and Kirsty come in and take us for maths. We learnt terms of measurement- grams, kilograms, metres, cubic metres and volume and used lots of different strategies to work things out.
We found out that around 8 little bags of chips fit into a big bag of chips. It is much better for the environment to use a big bag of chips and put them into containers. We also measured out the veggie garden and figured out the perimeter and volume! Our follow up task is to design and measure out our own veggie gardens!
Thanks to Kauri and Kirsty for a fantastic maths session using real life contexts!
